Hybrid Turbo
A standard turbo has to do a lot of things, it may not have to blow a high amount
of pressure but it has to give good general running and deal with all types of driving
conditions for the lifetime of the car. A hybrid turbo is a tuned unit on which
certain aspects have been modified to give better performance. The most common changes
are to replace the bearings with a 360 degree variant which offers greater reliability
and more strength. Other options are to grind out either the compression or exhaust
side of the turbo and fit larger wheels as well as opening out the intake or wastegate
to allow the turbo to flow a higher volume of air. |
